Description
The whole area was resurfaced with three distinct safety surfacing treatments: Wetpour (including inset fun shapes); a bark-look rubber mulch area for a rural appearance; and a high grade artificial grass surface for the woodland area.
A bespoke mud kitchen was designed and created out of pressure-treated play-grade timber, within a timber-enclosed area surfaced with play-grade bark.
The woodland area makes use of existing trees and includes a winding sensory path consisting of multiple sections with varying colours and textures. A soft-surface cycle track/road complete with dotted white line lane marking is inset in the artificial grass surfacing. A miniature storage hut, robinia timber trim-trail, and timber-edged planters provide the finishing touches to a woodland scene of immense play value.
New timber paling fence facing was installed around the main play area, with fun sensory boards at intervals. A water play system was manufactured and installed, with raised water/sand trays on timber stands.
For adventurous children, a robinia hardwood moveable ‘A’ Frame climber has large rungs on one side and climbing stones on the other, and a tunnel climber has an artificial grass bridge over a tunnel.
And when the children just want to relax, the circular play-grass storytelling area invites them to sit down on the grass-covered benches – and listen to the orator enthroned on the giant storytelling chair!
